Material Minute: Milan Design Week with Markus Benesch

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The incredibly talented Markus Benesch has been many things in his quarter-century career: self-taught designer, architect, professor, inventor, and artist. His playful creations and masterful storytelling were a high point of Milan Design Week 2019. We caught up with him again during a very sultry Milan Design Week this June to ask about his 2022 exhibit:

Markus Benesch Creates presents the Curious Boy collection, Show Your Colors. Furniture, lighting, and wallpaper crafted as functional totems exude positive energy for a world in turmoil and confusion.

This family of thoughtful provocations hide and reveal their own truth through the designer’s signature use of camouflage and illusion.

According to Markus, it is time to Show Your Colors in every sense of the meaning.

We couldn’t agree more!
