Design Week + Salone + Fuorisalone
Milan Design Week is the full week of activities, when Milan becomes the world’s Design Capital and includes all events happening in the city this April.
Salone del Mobile, or Salone for short, is the heart of the Design Week. Salone is an international furniture and design trade fair held at the Fiera Milano exhibition complex in Rho, just outside Milan. This is the show for brands to show off new collections, for buyers to place orders, and more. The Salone is a ticketed event and includes specialized sections for lighting, emerging designers, office design, kitchens, baths, and more.
Fuorisalone (“outside the salon”) is everything else — and it’s a lot! Exhibitions, art shows, pop-ups, parties, brand activations, and more happens all throughout Milan. These events are largely free and spread across showrooms, neighborhoods, museums, and more.
